Mechanical Superintendent for power plants around the world
Do you want a broad responsibility in power plants, energy and process plants? Do you have experience with gas and diesel power plant technology? Are you keen to travel and work across borders? Then this could be the job for you.
BWSC - Ever better energy!
Join us in our mission in building a world of sustainable energy and make a meaningful impact on the world of power generation and energy conversion.
BWSC is a leading player in the power generation industry, specializing in the service, operations, and maintenance of power plants. We are at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions, working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop and construct cutting-edge power-to-x facilities. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship sets us apart in the industry.
The position
At BWSC we are currently looking for experienced Mechanical Superintendents in our Service Department.
In the Service Department, we typically work on 2- or 4-stroke diesel or gas fueled power plants. We are responsible for survey, service, overhauls, repair, breakdown assistance and troubleshooting tasks at our power plant customers and at our O&M facilities.
As a mechanical superintendent, you will have your own projects where you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various service tasks from start to finish.
You will be part of a professional cross-functional team and be responsible for our own fitters and technicians, and in some cases for our customers’ own people at power plants around the world.
It is your primary responsibility to ensure that both the quality and execution of the work performed meets our high standards.
Some of your most important tasks will be:
- Supervision of 2- and 4-stroke diesel and gas engine overhauls
- Supervision of large refurbishment or rehabilitation projects
- Supervision of tasks related to auxiliary equipment and new installations
- Maintain close dialogue with project managers responsible for the overall project execution
- Complete technical reporting in English
- Train and educate colleagues and customer staff
- Take the lead in ensuring a safe working environment on site.
Qualifications
We imagine that you have a basic education as a Mechanical Engineer or something similar. If you are also skilled in a trade such as electrician, mechanic, machinist or other, this would be an advantage.
At the same time, you have a few years of experience in major service tasks, power plants or ship installations, as well as the desire to utilize and actively apply your experience with our customers.
As we work globally and attract both Danish and foreign specialists, it is necessary that you are fluent in written and spoken English.
In addition, we expect you to:
- Have experience with MAN or Wärtsilä 2- and 4-stroke diesel engines.
- Have general experience and knowledge of industrial installations.
- Have practical and theoretical experience with installation needs and requirements for automated power plants, boilers, or industrial plants – including auxiliary systems and engine overhauls.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Have good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and IT in general.
- Enjoy traveling in your job, as you can expect approximately 150-200 travel days per year.
- Be a team player with good interpersonal skills when working with both colleagues and customers.
You thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment where you work closely with a local crew from many different nationalities. You understand the importance of respecting and understanding cultural differences and can communicate and act in a way that creates a good and productive working relationship.
On a personal level, you are innovative, self-driven, dynamic and ambitious and you see opportunities rather than limitations. You have a strategic mindset and act decisively and responsibly. You can handle multiple tasks simultaneously and are adaptable and flexible.
What do we offer?
Joining BWSC gives you the chance to influence and contribute to meaningful projects that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
We offer an exciting position in a dynamic, competent and collaborative work environment with professional and technical challenges in an international engineering and construction organization where quality and innovative processes go hand in hand. In addition, we focus on opportunities for both professional and personal development.
We have a good canteen, fitness facilities and an active Staff Club that contributes to different types of events and activities. Our head office is in Allerød, close to the train station and only a 30-minute drive from the center of Copenhagen.
