Specialist 3D, Layout & Space Management

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a talented 3D Layout and Space Management Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team and help us shape the next generation of energy infrastructure.

We are a leading engineering solutions provider in the energy sector, delivering high-performance, sustainable, and technically complex projects. Our work spans across power plants, biomass-to-energy, waste-to-energy, engine-based power generation, and green hydrogen facilities.

BWSC – Ever better energy!

Join us in our mission in building a world of sustainable energy and make a meaningful impact on the world of power generation and energy conversion.

BWSC is a leading player in the power generation industry, specializing in the service, operations, and maintenance of power plants. We are at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions, working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop and construct cutting-edge power-to-x facilities. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship sets us apart in the industry.

The position

As a 3D Layout and Space Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in the conceptualization, coordination, and detailed design of industrial facility layouts. You’ll work closely with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and civil teams to develop efficient, maintainable, and safe 3D models of complex energy systems.

This role requires a mix of spatial intelligence, deep technical understanding, and strong coordination skills to ensure our projects meet both engineering and constructability standards.

We operate in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment that demands a strong focus on cross-functional teamwork. Your ability to balance a hands-on approach with detailed quality focus and overview of the workflow and interdependencies will be key to your success.

On a daily basis you will perform:

  • Develop and manage 3D plant layouts from early concept to detailed design stages.
  • Perform 3D and 2D drawings revision control and take informed design decisions, especially at the interface between disciplines
  • Optimize spatial arrangement of equipment, systems, and access routes within industrial facilities.
  • Conduct and resolve clash detection using tools like Navisworks or AVEVA E3D.
  • Integrate models from multiple disciplines and ensure alignment with project standards.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams (process, mechanical, electrical, structural) and external stakeholders.
  • Support design reviews, model walkthroughs, and client presentations
  • Technical project coordination on client projects
  • Coordination with and optimize collaboration with external 3D partners (presently Bulgaria and Philippines)
  • Prepare and follow up on schedule for engineering and equipment deliveries in collaboration with project manager.

What We’re Looking For

You are a self-starter with drive, who welcomes the chance to take the initiative. Your positive, proactive and systematic approach to your work enables you to take a task and run with it independently.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Plant Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial plant layout, ideally in the energy, process, or power sectors.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software such as:
    • AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D/PDMS, (or equivalent)
    • Navisworks (for clash detection and coordination)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and process plant design principles
  • Experience with modular/skid-based plant layouts and containerized systems (a plus)
  • Experience in green hydrogen plant design
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., EN, ASME, ATEX for hydrogen zones)
  • Excellent 3D spatial awareness and visualization skills

In addition, you:

  • Have good communication skills
  • Are able to build and mature strong relationships with both internal and external parties
  • As a person, you ensure excellence through your motivation and energy.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, as a minimum in English is required. Other languages will be considered a plus.
