What will you do 

As our new Logistics Planner, you will be responsible in coordinating and managing the transportation, storage, and delivery of equipment and materials for our global power plant projects.

 

This position is key to ensuring the efficient and timely movement of critical components to project sites around the world, maintaining a smooth and reliable supply chain. You will collaborate closely with internal project teams, suppliers, and external logistics partners to execute all logistics activities on time and within budget.

 

In your daily work, you will use tools such as IFS, Novacura, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint to support planning, analysis, and communication.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Transport Coordination: Organize, plan, and oversee the transportation of large and heavy equipment, materials, and components required for power plant construction projects, ensuring they arrive on time and in proper condition.
  • Inventory and Materials Management: Maintain oversight of material and equipment inventory to ensure all project-related goods are available when required and efficiently coordinate their transportation.
  • Supply Chain Support: Work closely with procurement-, parts-  and project management -teams to schedule and coordinate the movement of goods based on project timelines and needs.
  • Vendor & Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure a reliable and cost-effective service.
  • Project Logistics Planning: Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed logistics plans and schedules for the movement of equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with project deadlines and safety regulations.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and review all necessary shipping and customs documentation, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, as well as BWSC's policies and industry standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve logistics-related issues, such as shipment delays, damages, or customs clearance challenges, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Cost Management & Reporting: Monitor logistics costs to ensure projects are delivered within budget, providing regular reports to management on logistics performance, including costs, delays, and risks.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure that logistics activities comply with BWSC’s health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as applicable regulations in the countries where operations are taking place.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the loading, unloading, and handling of materials to ensure that quality standards are met, and equipment is transported safely.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving logistics processes and work to implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or timelines.

 

Qualifications & Knowledge to succeed

On the professional side:

  • Full qualifications in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar relevant field with at least 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of transportation and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to the shipping of oversized and hazardous materials.
  • Experience in the energy or power plant industry, especially in the transportation of large, complex equipment.
  • Knowledge of global supply chains and international shipping procedures.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, including shipping, receiving.
  • Experience with route optimization and cost reduction strategies.
  • Good understanding and experienced IT user with proficiency in logistics software, WMS and ERP systems (e.g. IFS and Novacura), Excel, Power Point and Power BI.
  • Dangerous goods certificate type IATA Air Transport of Dangerous Goods Awareness (CAT.2).
  • Knowledge of export control is an advantage.
