Experienced Process Engineer for Power Plants

The position
The position plays a key role in advancing BWSC’s engineering capabilities and delivering high-quality solutions for client projects and operating plants within biomass, waste, engine-based power generation and Power-to-X facilities.

You will be part of the Technology Function, working closely with engineering colleagues across Process Engineering, Layout, Mechanical Engineering and Automation. We support BWSC’s business areas and customers globally with engineering deliveries covering the full plant life cycle – from sales and proposal phase through project execution, commissioning, operation, optimization, and subsequent services and modifications.

BWSC is a project-oriented Service & O&M company, and you will work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration, quality, and technical interdependencies. The role requires both attention to detail and the ability to maintain an overview of workflows and interfaces across disciplines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting and plant optimization during operation and throughout the plant lifetime
  • Contribute to plant design, process calculations and development of technical solutions across energy facilities, including biomass- and engine-based power plants
  • Participate in engineering deliveries from sales and proposal phase through project execution, commissioning support, and subsequent service projects and modifications
  • Support site activities including troubleshooting and performance improvement
  • Collaborate in cross-functional, project-oriented teams with a strong focus on quality, workflow overview and technical interdependencies

 

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you combine solid engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced, service- and project-oriented environment. The qualifications below define the technical foundation, professional experience and personal capabilities needed to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across the full plant life cycle.

Required qualifications:

  • Experience or solid knowledge within operation and maintenance of power plants or similar industrial facilities
  • Knowledge of design and process calculations for power plants or other energy facilities
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting and plant support
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical English
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly through explanations, sketches and documentation
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20 - 50 days per year 
  • BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar

Preferred qualifications, but not a requirement:

  • Understanding of asset management strategies to ensure high availability and minimum OPEX
  • Experience with or interest in AI / machine learning as tools for advanced and automated analysis of operational data
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning activities
  • Experience with biomass-or waste- fueled power plants 
  • Familiarity with risk assessment procedures such as ATEX and HAZOP
